Storage & Freshness Tips
At Cape Cuts, we take pride in delivering biltong that’s fresh, flavorful, and ready to enjoy. To make sure you get the best taste and texture from every bite, here are some simple tips on storing your biltong.
How to Store Your Biltong
Short-Term (1–2 weeks)
• Keep your biltong in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
• Store in its vacuum-sealed packaging or an airtight container.
• If opened, place it in a paper bag (not plastic) to allow the biltong to breathe and avoid excess moisture.
Long-Term (3–6 weeks)
• For longer storage, keep your biltong in the fridge inside its vacuum-sealed pack or a breathable paper bag.
• Avoid storing it in plastic bags in the fridge, as this can cause sweating and mold.
Freezing Biltong
• Yes, you can freeze biltong!
• Place it in an airtight container or vacuum bag before freezing.
• When ready to enjoy, allow it to thaw naturally at room temperature.
Our Freshness Promise
• All Cape Cuts biltong is prepared in small batches, vacuum-packed, and shipped quickly to lock in freshness.
• When stored correctly, your biltong will stay delicious for up to 4–6 weeks.
• For the best flavor and texture, we recommend enjoying it within the first few weeks.
Extra Tips
• Don’t refrigerate wet biltong in plastic — always use paper.
• Check regularly if you prefer a softer cut, as it can firm up over time.
• Share & snack often — biltong is best when enjoyed fresh!
At Cape Cuts, we want every bite to taste as good as the first. Store it right, and your biltong will never lose its magic.
